Intertek West Lab was established as an independent laboratory in 1980.

In 1998, the company was bought by a British consortium, and is currently owned by Kite Overseas Holdings B. V., which is registered in the Netherlands. Intertek Group plc is the final holding company and is registered on the London Stock Exchange.

Intertek is an international company with over 24,000 employees. The company is represented in over 100 countries, at some 1000 laboratories. Intertek West Lab is part of the Analytical Services division.

Intertek West Lab has just over 120 employees, more than half of whom have a higher college or university degree.

Intertek West Lab is accredited pursuant to ISO-IEC 17025.
